Proverbs is a book of the Bible that is full of wisdom and instruction on how we should think and act. I love this book because it gives it to you in the raw; no filter. As we are traveling on our journey, life happens! It is through our individual and collective experiences that we gain insight into who we are and who we want to be. We either learn from them or repeat them until we GET IT. Prayerfully we are gaining wisdom that is helping us to become stronger and more conscious in our walk/lives. Unfortunately more often than not, we go through the ugly pain and react in ways that can be seen as setbacks. I'm choosing to look at those instances as timing. My mind, emotions, spirit and situations were not in a space where they connected positively and so I had to go through certain situations repeatedly until all areas lined up creating my own personal epiphanies, allowing me to grow from them rather than digress. Thankfully my past DOES NOT dictate my future and at the moment that I choose not to be a victim or to look at my life through the eyes of a victim, I can then start making decisions and completing tasks that will create a positive change in my life on all levels.
Today I have attached a video of various clips of Will Smith (you know ... the awesome actor) that highlights some excellent mindsets and thoughts we should consider when looking at ourselves and our lives. Let it be known...I love his work. There is not a movie of his that I don't like that I've seen. However this is not about who he is but about how he thinks. Regardless of what anyone thinks about him as an individual, it doesn't phase him. This is how I believe we all need to think. For too long we have allowed others to dictate how we should be, how we should see ourselves and we take on their perception of us which is usually negative. For one...that's way too much power to give to anyone whether they know they have it or not and two, no one should tell you how you should feel about you ....EVER! Think about it, how many times have you had an idea or been excited to do something new and when you shared it with (insert name or face), they shot it down before it even had a chance to be anything. To illustrate this more I'm also including the GE commercial about ideas, its powerful. Take a look.
